Something borrowedSomething pressed

The wedding hat bar guests talk about for years

Somewhere between the espresso cart and the photo booth, the hat bar became the wedding activation of the decade. Here is why it earns the spot.

A favor guests design themselves

Traditional favors get left on the table. A cap a guest built — their colorway, their patches, pressed while they watched — leaves on their head. Couples tell us the hats keep showing up in their friends' vacation photos for years, which is a kind of wedding souvenir no candle ever managed.

Where it fits in the weekend

Welcome party. Our favorite slot. Guests arrive as strangers, and picking patches is a natural icebreaker. By the rehearsal dinner, half the room is already wearing the weekend's unofficial uniform.

Cocktail hour. The bar gives guests something to do while you take portraits, and every finished cap walks straight into the reception photos.

Late-night reception. When jackets come off and the band kicks in, the hat line becomes part of the dance floor. This slot pairs beautifully with a foam snapback wall.

Making it yours

  • Hat walls matched to your palette — dusty blue, sage, terracotta, black-tie neutrals, whatever the mood board says.
  • Custom chenille or woven patches with your date, crest, or a phrase from the toast.
  • Engraved leather monogram patches for the wedding party — the Richardson 115 low-pro is the crowd favorite here because it flatters everyone in photos.
  • A special bride-and-groom pair nobody else can press.

Practical notes for planners

We need a 10×10 corner or one 8-foot table, one 20-amp circuit, and about 90 minutes of load-in before guests arrive. The crew dresses to your dress code. For custom patches, give us two to three weeks; for stock chenille, four weeks out is plenty. Orange County, LA, and San Diego dates carry no travel fee — see pricing for the anchors, and read the wedding trend deep-dive for planning timelines.
